Scars are the markers of our lives. They remind us of critical moments that we have overcome and through which we can grow mentally. Sometimes, however, the memory of the decisive event is draining even after a few years and leaves a bitter aftertaste. Self-esteem and quality of life can be significantly impaired. In this case, consideration should be given to treatments that substantially reduce the scar tissue.

CO2 LASER REDUCES SCAR TISSUE
In CO2 laser treatment, a highly focused beam of light is directed at the scar tissue. The laser energy is absorbed by the water molecules in the skin and causes precise ablation of the scar tissue.
This process triggers the body’s natural healing response, stimulates collagen production and promotes the formation of new, healthy skin cells. The controlled thermal damage caused by the CO2 laser helps to remodel the scar tissue, resulting in improved skin structure and a reduced appearance of the scars.
ADVANTAGES OF CO2 LASER TREATMENT FOR SCARS
Treatment with the CO2 laser results in
- an improvement of the scar texture
- the correction of pigmentation
- the formation of new collagen
- only minimal downtime and a speedy recovery compared to other surgical alternatives
WHAT TYPES OF SCARS IS THE THERAPY SUITABLE FOR?
CO2 laser treatment is suitable for acne scars, surgical scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks. It can be effective for both fresh scars and older scars . In order to determine the suitability of CO2 laser treatment, we conduct an in-depth medical history and consultation before each treatment. This is because the individual circumstances and skin characteristics of each patient must be considered and taken into account individually.
CO2 laser therapy is generally a safe treatment. Temporary redness and swelling at the treatment site are common and usually subside within a few days. The treated skin may react more sensitively to sunlight and requires careful sun protection for several weeks.
Costs from 300 € (based on the German Medical Fee Schedule, or GOÄ), depending on the treatment area
